William Lace Clague (14 July 1847 – 19 May 1925) was a teacher, school inspector and local politician.

Born in Lancaster, Clague became a "[pupil teacher]" at the age of 14. After working in various jobs he came to London to attend Battersea Training College. He was a school teacher in various parts of the Midlands and North West England before gaining a post as inspector with the London School Board in the 1870s. He retired from the post in 1912 when he reached the age of 65. In the following year he was elected to the London County Council as a Progressive Party councillor representing Islington East. He retired from the council at the 1925 election and died in May of the same year at his residence in Crouch End.
