William Anthony Nicholls (1847-1926) was an elementary school teacher and politician.

Born in Barnstaple, Devon, by 1870 he was living in Plumstead and working as a teacher.

Progressive Party Member of the London County Council elected unopposed 21 February 1914 for Islington West.

A school teacher at Eglington Road London County Council school, Woolwich, he was President of the National Union of Teachers for 1908-1909.
