Walter Robert Allen MBE (5 February 1902 - 5 March 1983) was a paper hanger, painter and Labour Party local politician.

Born in Meate Street, Camberwell he lived his entire life inthe borough.

Allen was London Regional Regional Secretary of the National Society of Painters. He first stood for election at the 1946 Camberwell Borough Council elections but failed to win a seat at College Ward. At the next borough election he won a seat at Town Hall ward, holding it in 1953 and 1956. In May 1956 he was created an alderman. He was the last Mayor of Camberwell in 1964-65 prior to the borough's absorption into the London Borough of Southwark.

He was also a member of the London County Council from 1958-65, representing Camberwell, Peckham.

He was awarded the MBE in the 1956 New Years Honours. He retired from politics in 1965.
