Stanley Charles Bolton was a Conservative Party politician.

Held a commission in the Royal Armoured corps during the Second World War.

Elected to Merton London Borough Council in 1968 as one of four Conservative councillors to represent Mitcham North Ward. He did not stand at the 1971 borough council elections, when all four ward seats were won by the Labour Party

In the meantime he had been elected to the Greater London Council in 1970 as one of the two representatives of the London Borough of Merton. At the next GLC election in 1973 the boundaries were revised with one councillor for each parliamentary constituency. Bolton was elected to represent Wimbledon, a seat he held until the GLC's abolition in 1986.
