Vice Chairman London County Council 1913 – 1914. MP for Spelthorne division of Middlesex 1918-31, Devon. Architect and surveyor – head of firm of Pilditch, Chadwick and Company: detailed knowledge of law of landlord and tenant, which was highly valued in House of Commons. 1907-1919 member of the London County Council, during which he was Chairman of the Parliamentary and local government committees. Had major interest in the preservation of ancient monuments. Publications professional, literary, and historical papers
