Major Ronald Charles Orpen (born Oppenheimer) (25 June 1886 - 1975)
The son of a naturalised German father, he assumed the surname of Orpen on 8 February 1916 and obtained a commission in the Cheshire Regiment in June of the same year, serving on the Western Front until 1918. Following the war he obtained employment in the War Office.
Conservative Party Member of the London County Council for St Marylebone for 1952-55.
Mayor of St Marylebone 1954-55.
