Richard Samuel Griffith (1895-1959) was a tram driver and local politician.

Born in Lambeth, he was the son of Robert Griffith, a compositor. In 1919 he married Elizabeth Selina Marke in Peckham. His profession was described on the marriage certificate as a "motorman" or tram driver.

A resident of Nunhead, he sat as a Labour Party councillor on the London County Council representing Camberwell North from 1946-49.

He was a justice of the peace for the County of London and the chairman of the management committee of St Lawrence's Hospital, Caterham.
