Chairman London County Council April 1912 – 1913

Alderman of Westminster City Council and mayor of Westminster 1905 and 1906.

Chairman of the National Rifle Association, being long associated with the organization. Large collection of military medals and 1897 published a book on the subject. At one point lived in Hughenden Manor (sometime home of Benjamin Disraeli). Died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident
