].London Elects is the body responsible for the administration of elections to the London Assembly and of the Mayor of London.

London Elects is part of the Greater London Authority but is politically impartial and operationally independent. The body is headed by the Greater London Returning Officer and has a separate budget. London Elects has two divisions: Operations and Communications.

Operations Team[]

The Operations Team plans and coordinates logistical aspects of the elections, working with the electoral staff in the London boroughs. Services provided include:

  • Training and support for polling station staff
  • Receiving of candidate nominations for the Mayoral election and for London-wide candidates of London Assembly election. *Count centre operations
  • Management of e-counting contract
