Lilian Maud Sadler (née Carlile) (1891 - 1962).
Born in Old Ford, she was the daughter of James Carlile, a printer's porter and his wife Emma. Originally employed as a typestter she became a blouse "button holer". She married Charles Henry Sadler, a packer, in Haggerston in 1913.
Labour Party Member of the Poplar Borough Council in 1946 she was elected unopposed to London County Council to represent Poplar, Bow and Bromley.
