A pedestrianised square in central London, in which there are many cinemas. It was laid out in 1670 and is named after the contemporary Leicester House, itself named after Robert Sidney, 2nd Earl of Leicester.
It is served by Leicester Square Station and is within walking distance of Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.
