Kythé Caroline Hendy' (nee Ogilvy) (1902-September 1998, South Harris, Hampshire)

The eldest daughter of Francis Ogilvy, a member of the London stock exchange, in 1925 she married Philip Hendy (1900-1980) an art historian.In 1946 her husband became director of the National Gallery and in 1950 when he was knighted she became Lady Hendy. The couple divorced in 1968.

She was a Labour Party member of the London County Council representing Lambeth Vauxhall from 1952-61.
