Deputy Chairman London County Council 1918 – 1919. Involved with Girton College, and became a teacher. Served on the LCC from 1909, co-opted onto the education committee 1910, became an alderman 1913-34, and then education committee again 1934-7. 1918-19 first female deputy chair of LCC. Served on finance and public control committees. 1899-1900 president of the Association of Assistant Mistresses. Served on National Union of Women Workers.
Member of the Progressive Party in the London County Council selected 1913 to serve until 1916 in place of H L Cripps, resigned Alderman
