Colonel Joseph Benskin (1 April 1883 - 14 July 1953) was an army officer and politician.

Educated at Harrow School, he entered the Royal Engineers in 1902. Mentioned in despatches during the First World War, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1916 and OBE in 1919. He retired from the army in 1924.

He entered local politics in 1928 when he was elected to the London County Council as a Municipal Reform Party councillor representing Lewisham East.

He moved to Frant, Sussex and was a member of East Sussex County Council 1934–46.
