John Piggott (1847 - 26 May 1922) was a businessman and local politician.

Born in St Ives, Huntingdonshire he was the son of John Piggott, a grocer and draper and his wife Ann. By 1871 he was working for his father as a commercial traveller. In the same year he married Charlotte Edwards, also of St Ives.

By 1881 he was living in Newington and was working on his own account as a tailor and hatter. This business quickly became John Piggott and Company, gentlemens' outfitters, of Cheapside, of which he was chairman for forty years.

He sat as a Progressive Party member of the London County Council representing Newington West 1898-1907.

By 1901 he had moved to Bexley, where he died aged 75.
