Captain James Cornelius Dalton (c.1864 - 18 December 1938) was a politician in the Westminster area.

During the First World War he served in the Royal Defence Corps, which allowed men over the normal age of duty to perform home defence duties, reaching the rank of captain.

An alderman on Westminster City Council, he was Mayor of Westminster in 1935-36. In 1923 he was made a justice of the peace, and in 1929 a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of London.

From 1925-37 he was a member of the London County Council representing Westminster, Abbey for the Conservative-backed Municipal Reform Party.

He died in Westminster Hospital, aged 74, and was buried in St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Kensal Green
