James Benjamin Hayward (1893-22 January 1956) was a local politician active in the Clapham area.

Born in Wandsworth, he was the son of Charles Hayward, a picture frame maker, and his wife Sarah. By 1911 he was working as a clerk at the Battersea Polytechnic Institute. Enlisted into the army during the First World War, he married Florence Parks in July 1916.

Labour Party Member of the London County Council representing Wandsworth, Clapham 1952-55.
