Founder of Salmon & Gluckstein tobacconists, which expanded into the catering business under name of third partner, Joseph Lyons. 1907 elected to London County Council as a Municipal Reform Party councillor first Islington West, then 1910 Hammersmith to 1925. Promoted teaching of catering skills. Father of Samuel Isidore Salmon.
