Hon. Sir Henry Charles Legge (1852 - 20 June 1924).
The second son of the second Earl of Dartmouth, he was educated at Eton before joining the Coldstream Guards, holding a commission from 1872-99. In 1893 he became an equerry or member of royal household. In 1915 he was appointed Paymaster of the Royal Household.
Following an unsuccessful attempt to win a seat on the London County Council at Islington East in 1895, he was returned unopposed to fill a casual vacancy as a Moderate Party member of the London County Council to represent St George's Hanover Square on 29 February 1896. he held the seat at the 1898 council election, and stood down at the 1901 election.
He was appointed a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 1910 and promoted to Knight Grand Cross of the order in 1920.
