George Albert Dutfield (1881-30 June 1945) was a haulier and local politician.
Born in Bow in the East End of London, he was the son of Henry T Dutfield, a master carman. He followed his father into the transport business, eventually forming H & G Dutfield, hauliers, which he handed on to his sons.
He was involved in local politics, becoming a member of Stepney Borough Council, and served as Mayor of Stepney in 1909-10.
He was also a member of the London County Council for three years: he won a by-election 13 August 1913 as a Municipal Reform Party candidate at Tower Hamlets (Mile End), resigning the seat on 18 July 1916.
In 1924 he was chosen by the Minister of Transport to be a member of the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee as a representative of "the interests of persons providing means of transport and users of mechanically propelled and horse-drawn road vehicles within the London Traffic Area".
He retired to West Mersea in Essex where he died, aged 63.
