George Aubrey Stapleton (1884-1959) was an estate agent and Conservative Party politician active in Lambeth.

In March 1946 he was elected to Lambeth Borough Council in a by-election, winning a seat at Knight's Hill ward from the Labour Party. He was elected to the London County Council in 1949 to represent Lambeth Norwood. He served a single three-year term on the council, standing down at the 1952 elections. He was awarded the OBE in the 1954 New Years Honours for "political and public services in Lambeth". [1]
