Dr. Edward "Ed" Stephen Gouge (1947 - 2 January 2018) was a university lecturer and Labour Party politician.

Born in Northfleet, Kent he was educated at Windsor Grammar School, Bristol University, Leeds University and Birkbeck, University of London. He held a PhD in politics, philosophy and economics.

He became a Labour Party councillor in Gravesend, Kent.

In 1981 he was elected to the Greater London Council to represent Ilford South and became Chair of the GLC's Planning Committee. He remained a member of the council until its abolition in 1986.

In 1993 he moved to Yorkshire as Professor of Politics at the University of Leeds, a post he held for eighteen years.

He moved to the Isle of Wight in 2013 where he helped reorganise the island's constituency Labour Party and was elected to Ventnor Town Council. He stood for election to the Isle of Wight Council in 2017.
