Mrs Edith Victoria Winifred Deakin (née Combe) (2 June 1897 – 29 January 1985).
Born in Gloucestershire, in 1920 she married George Deakin MC, member of a jam manufacturing business family. Her husband died in October 1943.
She was a Conservative Party member of the London County Council 1949-52 Kensington North (UK Parliament constituency), 1952-5 alderman. Awarded the MBE in 1964 Birthday Honours at which time she was the One-in-Five Organiser, Southern Region, Women's Voluntary Service.
