Mina Constance Elder (22 January 1858 - 1 February 1940).

She was the daughter of a Scottish businessman, Alexander Lang Elder, who carried on business as an "Australian Merchant".

Born in Portchester Square, Bayswater, she was briefly a member of the London School Board, elected to represent Westminster in 1897.

In August 1898 she married the Reverend Charles Robert Patey and became Mrs Patey. Her husband was a Church of England clergyman with a parish in Devon, and she moved to the county, resigning her seat on the school board in June 1899.
