Sir Christopher John Chataway (31 January 1931 - 19 January 2014) was a Conservative Party politician. He was also an athlete and broadcaster.

Born in Chelsea, he was educated at Oxford before entering broadcasting.

He was a member of the London County Council representing Lewisham North from 1958-61. At the 1959 General Election he was elected to the House of Commons as member of parliament for the same constituency. He lost his parliamentary seat at the 1966 general election, and when the Conservatives gained control of the Greater London Council in 1967, he was appointed an alderman and became leader of the Inner London Education Authority.

He returned to the Commons in May 1969 when he won a by-election at Chichester. He immediately resigned his leadership of ILEA, and stood down from the GLC in April 1970. He retired from parliament to pursue a business career in October 1974. He was knighted in 1995.
