Brent and Harrow is a constituency that elects one member of the London Assembly.
The constituency comprises the London boroughs of Brent and Harrow.
From 2000 to 2012 the seat was a marginal one, changing hands between the Labour Party and Conservative Party.
The first member was Toby Harris of Labour who was elected with a majority of 4,380 votes over Bob Blackman of the Conservatives.[1] In 2004 Blackman defeated Harris by 4,686 votes.[2] In 2008 a new Labour candidate, Navin Shah, unseated Blackman with a majority of 1,649 votes.[3] Shah held the seat in 2012 by a large majority of 29,796.[4]
