Bernard Sullivan was a trade unionist and local politician.

From 1909 he was a member of the National Union of Tailors and Garment Workers, rising to become London District Secretary.

He was a member of both the Shirt, Collar and Tie Wages Council and the member Made Up Textile Wages Council.

He sat as a Labour Party member of the London County Council representing Greenwich 1937-52. Vice Chairman of the London County Council 1949 – 1950.
