Arthur Ernest Wicks Born 1915 died 2006

Deputy Chairman London County Council 1962-Oct 1963, Chairman LCC 1963 – 1965. Labour politician and shopowner.

Elected to Shoreditch Metropolitan Borough Council 1950s, and became Chairman of Housing. 1952 Elected to LCC for Shoreditch and Finsbury – involved in housing and parks. Oversaw transition to Greater London Council, in which he served until 1981. Chairman of the Greater London Council 1973-74.

His son, Malcolm Wicks, became a Labour Minister.
