Andrew Hartley Dismore (born 2 September 1954) is a Labour Party politician.
He has been a member of the London Assembly representing Barnet and Camden Constituency since 2012, having previously been member of parliament for Hendon from 1997-2010.
Born in Yorkshire, Dismore qualified as solicitor. In 1982 he was elected to Westminster City Council as one of three councillors representing Westbourne Ward. Re-elected to 1990 and 1994, he became leader of the Labour opposition group on the council. He resigned his seat on being elected to parliament.
At the 1997 general election there was a large swing to Labour, and Dismore was unexpectedly elected as MP for the north London suburban seat of Hendon. He increased his majority in 2001, held the seat with a smaller majority in 2005 and was defeated by 106 votes in 2010. He stood again at the 2015 general election, but failed to dislodge the Conservative Party incumbent, Matthew Offord, who increased his majority to over 3,700 votes.
In the meantime, Dismore had been elected to the London Assembly, unseating Brian Coleman of the Conservatives in 2012 to become Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden. He held the assembly seat in 2016. He retired from the assembly at the 2021 election.
