Sir Albert Clavering (17 April 1887 - 7 June 1972) was a businessman and local politician.
Born as Albert Clozenberg in Shoreditch, he was the son of Isaac Abraham Clozenberg, a Polish-born Jew who had settled in the East End of London. In November 1920 the family changed their surname to Clavering by deed poll.
Clavering was the director of a number of companies and was active in the Conservative Party: he was the honorary organising director of the Conservative and Unionist Films Association from 1930–45.
In 1931 he was elected as a member of London County Council representing St Pancras South East as part of the Conservative-aligned majority Municipal Reform Party. At the next county council election in 1934 he lost his seat as the Labour Party gained control for the first time.
He was knighted in 1935 for "public and political services" and awarded the OBE in 1941 during the Second World War for his work as director of Cinema Van Propaganda for the National Savings Committee.
